General Clerk

AZZ Enclosure Systems Millington, MD, has an opening for a General Clerk, who will assist callers and visitors, direct them to the appropriate personnel, and provide administrative support to Accounting and other office staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):

  • Answers incoming telephone calls and route callers to their destination.

  • Directs visitors to appropriate personnel and makes sure they all sign the ?Visitor Safety Guidelines? before entering the production area.

  • Assists departments with sorting, filing and data entry as needed and approved.

  • Greets incoming visitors.

  • Substitutes for mailroom support as needed.

  • May provide administrative support to Accounting department.

  • Schedules conference rooms and assists with meeting setup details as necessary.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.Knowledge of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words/rules of composition and grammar.


  • Maintaining confidentiality and providing excellent customer service to employees, customers and shareholders is required.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required. At least one year of experience is required.

  • Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of personnel.

  • Basic mathematical skills, ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages, including basic algebra.
  • Inductive and deductive reasoning, ability to draw conclusions, selective attention. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Regular attendance required during office hours. Occasional overtime.

  • Majority of the time is spent sitting, some standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending. Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. Must be able to see at close range and perform repetitive hand/arm motions.

  • Primarily air conditioned office.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
